Umrah Rituals

Introduction
Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam and is an obligatory act of worship for every adult, sane, and financially capable Muslim once in a lifetime. It is performed in the holy city of Mecca during the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Hajj represents faith, obedience, equality, and unity among Muslims.
1. Ihram
Ihram is the intention to begin Umrah and is entered from designated locations known as Miqat. Men wear two white unstitched garments, while women wear modest clothing. Certain actions become prohibited during Ihram.
2. Tawaf
The pilgrim performs Tawaf by circling the Kaaba seven times, starting and ending at the Black Stone, while supplicating and remembering Allah. Tawaf is an essential pillar of Umrah.
3. Sa’i between Safa and Marwah
Pilgrims walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, commemorating Hagar’s search for water for her son Ishmael (peace be upon them).
4. Standing at Arafat
After completing Sa’i, men shave or trim their hair, while women trim a small portion. This marks the completion of Umrah and the exit from Ihram.
Conclusion
The rituals of Umrah reflect humility, obedience, and devotion to Allah. Performing Umrah brings spiritual peace, forgiveness of sins, and a renewed sense of faith in the hearts of Muslims.
